Retro Blaster is a high-speed arcade-style shooter game inspired by the golden age of 8-bit and 16-bit video games. The game incorporates modern enhancements and upgrades while retaining the nostalgic appeal of classic arcade machines. It builds on traditional foundations, such as smooth controls, wave-based enemies, pixel art graphics, and chiptune music.
Survival is more important than constant shooting in Retro Blaster. Focus on controlled and smooth movement. Small changes are better than frantic dodging, especially when there are multiple waves of bullets.
Enemies often move and attack in predictable ways. Play a few times and observe how bosses attack and how attack waves form. Memorizing attack patterns will significantly increase your chances of survival.
Shields and defense-boosting items can save a turn, although high-damage weapons are tempting. You can continue your scoring streak by strategically placing shields during a chaotic attack.
The goal is to eliminate nearby enemies at the top of the screen before they scatter. Excessive ammunition can be avoided by keeping the battlefield compact.
