Some may see cars as the black sheep of the Disney library, but it has still proven quite popular, yielding games like Cars: Lightning Speed. This places you right in the Cars universe where everything is based on a vehicle or something related to being on the road. The only things that have yet to change are the natural environments which still have plenty of space for driving. Driving and racing are two of the main things that cars do and it's up to you to enter into the competition and prove that you're the fastest car. Go from unknown to known as fast as possible.

About Cars: Lightning Speed

Cars: Lightning Speed - Disney properties get tons of games made after them and the main thing that they have to do is capture the elements effectively. This game does a decent job creating a casual racing game featuring Cars. It takes a lot of its structure from older racing games like Virtua Racer. You don't have to worry about many of the difficulties and hazards that come with driving and allows you to focus on the speed of it all. There are some clean aesthetics and colors to go with the feel, but it's mainly about you racing against other car characters.

How to Play

Cars: Lightning Speed is a 2.5D racing game about racing character cars using only the keyboard.

Controls

• A/Left Arrow - Turn Left
• D/Right Arrow - Turn Right
• Enter - Use Boost

The goal is to win races and collect rewards. You can choose to do a single race for a quick game or career for a longer racing journey. You can also change the appearance and stats of your car on the main menu by buying the right parts.

Gameplay

• After you've decided on the design of your car, you can start racing.
• When you do, you'll spawn alongside other cars. Once the lights turn, all the cars will start accelerating automatically.
• You'll need to turn to keep your car on the track and to avoid other cars.
• As you race along the track, you'll build up your boost meter gradually but can collect lightning bolts to build it up faster.
• When you have enough, you can use it to gain a burst of speed. Be wary of obstacles like oil puddles and bushes that will slow you down and drain your boost meter.
• You can also collect toolboxes along the road which can be traded in for coins.

Tips and Tricks

• This is a racing game where the speed is mostly out of your hands and it's all about control.
• You just need to keep your car in the center to keep it safe from off-road slowing down.
• Hug the inside track when you can and then look for openings to get past your competitors.
