The cars can still move pretty fast despite the circumstances, and it's not like you'll have the same issues as you would driving on Earth. The goal depends on the mode that you pick between Racing and Free Ride. In the first, you and another player will drive to be the first one to cross the finish line, while in the second, both of you can freely drive around the moon for fun. If you ever get stuck, you can just reset the cars to their starting position.
The main menu lets you decide the game mode and the number of players you want. After that, you get an option to choose your car, but this is mainly a cosmetic choice. More cars will be unlocked as you progress. When you start playing, the car will spawn in the same area, and then you begin driving. You can alter the level of gravity using the adjuster in the top left corner of the screen. The meter on the right shows how much nitro you have and will refill over time. You can make use of ramps and uneven terrain to get into the air.
There will also be objects like meteors and footballs scattered around that you can interact with by driving into them.
